Job Summary:
The EDD Disability Coordinator is responsible for assisting patients and healthcare providers with the disability insurance claims process through the California Employment Development Department (EDD). This role involves ensuring accurate and timely submission of medical documentation, providing guidance on eligibility and claims, and acting as a liaison between patients and medical professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Medical Documentation: Collect and submit necessary medical reports, physician statements, and health records for disability claims.
- Communication: Serve as a point of contact between patients and healthcare providers to facilitate the exchange of required medical information.
- Claims Assistance: Guide patients through the application process for Disability Insurance (DI) and Paid Family Leave (PFL) benefits, addressing any issues that arise.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and updating policies and procedures related to disability claims within medical facilities.
