Medical Record Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Remote Medical Record Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate, secure, and up-to-date patient health records for a multi-specialty clinic. This position supports clinical operations by ensuring timely access to medical records while working remotely in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Access, update, and manage Electronic Health Records (EHR) remotely using secure systems.
  • Process requests for medical records from patients, providers, and third parties, ensuring proper authorization and confidentiality.
  • Perform regular audits of digital records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Collaborate virtually with physicians and administrative staff to ensure timely documentation and record availability.
  • Scan, index, and electronically file incoming documents into the EHR system.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for quality assurance and regulatory audits.
  • Provide remote support and training to staff on EHR usage and documentation standards.
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies or potential breaches in data security.
